Zedd Shows His “True Colors” With Latest Album

Ever since the release of “Clarity,” Zedd has had to live up to the expectation of creating whirlwind electronic tunes that will turn any night into a scene fit for the movies. Well, I don’t know how he does it, but Zedd is back and with 11 tracks that make you want to get up, get out, and live every night to the fullest. From Selena Gomez to Jon Bellion to X, to Echosmith, Zedd enlists some star studded vocalists to fulfill the role of adding that extra romance to the album, “True Colors.” It should come as no surprise that with powerful vocals comes some heart warming lyrics that either hit really close to home or make you believe in something else.

Opening up with “Addicted To A Memory,” listeners can take a stroll down memory lane and revisit the feeling of old loves past, but in a peaceful and electric way. With “Transmission,” Zedd taps into a very Glitch Mob “esque” sound that ignites a powerful urge to rage and go abosolutey HAM- even if just for one night. “Bumble Bee,” with Botnek is one of the few tracks that contain minimal vocals, but with the infectious beat and massive bass lines, lyrics aren’t really necessary as you’ll be out of breath from shuffling. One track that really took me by surprise was “Beautiful Now,” featuring Jon Bellion. I have been an avid fan of Jon Bellion and was really curious how these two artists would collab together. If I ever had a doubt, this track really proved itself and more as the two compliment each other with Bellion’s sultry, yet deep vocals and Zedd’s bouncy harmony. I could go on and pick each track by track, but “True Colors,” really speaks for itself. It’s a romantic declaration that provides the perfect soundtrack to this ride we call life.
