Ryan Adams and Natalie Prass are currently touring together, and along with the rest of the music world, it appears that Adams has become a pretty big fan of Prass in the process. They’ve already been collaborating together onstage a bit, and last night at their show in Cork, Ireland, the pair covered “She’s Like The Wind” from Dirty Dancing. Adams transforms it from Patrick Swayze’s schmaltzy ’80s power balladry (the same schmaltz that earned him and Wendy Fraser a #3 spot on the charts no less!) into a devastating, ghostly duet. Prass handles her verse with enormous care; her glassy alto is front-and-center as the ideal foil for Adams’ warm, sinewy vocals. These two should seriously consider an entire album of duets together. The Irish crowd seems to be surprisingly familiar with the track and only breaks down into laughter at the song’s inherent cheesiness once or twice. Watch it below.
