Pet Symmetry – “Class Action Force (Useless Tools)” (First Listen)

Emo trio Pet Symmetry comprises a hodgepodge of members from Dowsing, Kittyhawk, Mountains For Clouds, and Into It. Over It. The band announced their album Pets Hounds a few weeks ago, simultaneously sharing the lead single “Give Thanks (Get Lost).” Now they follow with a second single, “Class Action Force (Useless Tools).” Pet Symmetry seems to be the perfect project for Evan Weiss (subject of a Stereogum cover story last year) and bandmates Erik Czaja and Marcus Nuccio to exercise their power-pop muscles. The trio combines an infectious, radio-friendly hook with huge guitar strokes and precise drum hits here with an emotionally numbing result. Check it out below.

Pets Hounds is out 5/19 via Asian Man. Pre-order it here.
