Canadian garage-pop project Peach Kelli Pop has an insanely catchy, lo-fi sound with an edge just below its surface. On their forthcoming third album, III, the band continues to offer their version of the 25-cent gumball that tastes sweet at first but gets tougher after its initial flavor wares off. Lead single “Plastic Love” is a seemingly lightweight song about how discouraging and empty love can be if you fall for the wrong person. Distorted electric guitar lines punctuated by punchy drums sit above high-pitched harmonies and a hook you will be singing for the rest of the day. Check it out below along with Peach Kelli Pop’s tour dates.
III is out 4/21 on Burger.
