After her 2010 science-fiction-inspired album, Red Leader Dream, Swedish pop artist Nina Kinert (aka Nina K) put her solo career away indefinitely. She then lent her vocals to Danish drummer-turned-producer Tomas Barfod on two separate occasions, wrote for other modern disco and dance-pop acts, and even got a B.A. in film studies. All of this side work must have made Nina K miss her solo career, because now she’s back with a new single, “Impossible,” off her upcoming release, On Ice. Today we’ve got Barfod’s remix of this soulful down-tempo tune. It’s featured on a remix EP called Impossible REMIXED. Nina K has the flow of a rapper and pipes like fellow Swede Lykke Li, and combined with Barfod’s beats, this new version of “Impossible” is infectious. Listen.
Impossible REMIXED is out 7/3.
