After releasing his album Blonde exclusively on Apple Music last year, Franck Ocean is continuing his collaboration with Apple by offering his own show on Beats 1.
The show is called Blonded and is intended as a means of expressing the artist’s musical taste, just like with Drake and his OVOSOUND Radio or the Travis Scott‘s .wav, both of which are also broadcasted on Beats 1.
For the first episode, Ocean played sounds ranging from Kodak Black to Céline Dion by way of Sade or even The Isley Brothers.
One of the most remarkable moments was his tribute to Prince. As a reminder the singer was originally to pay tribute to the “Purple Rain” artist on the stage of the Grammy Awards before changing his mind following his decision to boycott the ceremony.
On his Tumblr, he justified himself by writing the following note: “I really wanted to take part in this tribute, and then I thought that the best way to honor his legacy was to continue being myself and to continue to be successful.
