Death Cab For Cutie – “Little Wanderer”

Death Cab For Cutie has shared “Little Wanderer,” the fourth single from their upcoming ninth full-length Kintsugi. Unlike the tracks we’ve already heard from it — “Black Sun,” “No Room In Frame,” and “The Ghosts Of Beverly Drive” — this one feels a little more muted, falling back on the long-distance imagery blues that have marked so many Death Cab tracks. It isn’t the best of what Kintsugi has to offer, but it gets the job done, and with some particularly potent imagery towards the end of the song of meeting at baggage claim after a long trip away. There are also some really nice production flourishes that help to flesh the song out a bit more, something that can be attributed to new producer Rich Costey. Listen below.
