Brandon Flowers – “I Can Change”

When the Killers frontman Brandon Flowers and the great producer Ariel Rechtshaid get together, they make some truly impressive big-budget ’80s-style pop music. Flowers’ new solo album The Desired Effect is out soon, and all the songs we’ve heard — “Can’t Deny My Love,” “Still Want You,” “Lonely Town” — have been winners. Add to that list “I Can Change.” It’s not an LCD Soundsystem cover; instead, it’s a driving, searching midtempo jam that recalls the mid-’80s moment when all these old ’70s rock stars started piling on the synth sounds. Listen to a radio rip of it below.
